I have an old Valley barbox but cannot find any serial # or identifiying info on it anywhere. How can I get proper schematics? I want to install new rails and close the pockets up. Oddly enough the previous owner shimned the pockets. But the corner pockets are 4.5" and the side pockets are 4.75 on the inside and a gaping almost 5.7 at the opening tip to tip. Gator mouth pockets. I want them TIGHT. What are the best reccommendations for new rails and felt. I have been out for awhile. When I left Simonis (spell check please:frown:) 860 was the best cloth going. Any info I can get will be greatly appreciated.

Check out ridgebackrails.com They make the best replacement rails and you can talk to Kerry about customizing the pocket size. Simonis 860hr is a newer version of the 860 and would be an excellent choice.

We have three valleys with ridgebacks where I play. They play great.

Some people say 860 is not good for a bar box. They are wrong.

Just put my Simonis 860 and Ridgeback rails on today. It is a great combo for an older valley bar box. Mine is from 1970 (per the serial #). Can't wait to play some more bar box 8 ball on it.

I've got the best of both worlds now. A 9' Diamond pro and now a valley bar box. Now if I could just hit the lottery...

Edit: Kerry @ Ridgeback Rails is excellent to work with and can tighten your pockets up as you wish.
