Valley rule change?

Has anybody heard any truth to Valley changing the rule that BCA just changed this year? In BCA, it states that if your opponent breaks and scratches, you have ball in hand ANYWHERE on the table, not just behind the headstring. I love playing this way in BCA, hoping valley will change it by next year, if not before. I think this will speed some games up, enabling more table runs at the local level, as well as at State and Vegas tournaments.

VNEA 8 Ball Rules

5. If a player scratches on a legal break shot, (1) all balls pocketed remain pocketed (exception, the 8-ball), (2) it is a foul, (3) the table is open.

PLEASE NOTE: Incoming player has cue ball in hand behind the headstringand may not shoot an object ball whose base is not outside the headstring, unless he/she first shoots the cue ball past the headstring and causes the cue ball to come back behind the headstring and hit the object ball. If a player positions the cue ball completely and obviously outside the kitchen and shoots the cue ball, it is a foul, if called by the opponent.

2010-2011 VNEA Rules Changes


There were no rule changes approved at the recent General Membership Meeting held in Las Vegas, Nevada for the 2010-2011 Pool League Season.
