Valley Table - Drop Pockets installed

I have been aggravated by loud ball-return noise for my home table (Valley barbox) since I got the danged thing. Late last year I found plastic drop pockets, put them in a few weeks ago, and now I love it. One "plop" and nothing else. Now I can have it quite to not disturb others so much or I can listen to the TV at agreeable noise levels.

God I hated listening to every inch of roll and 3 drops in the home track. It grated on my soul. Coin ops in bars seem much more quite. There is background noise, and the ball only travels half the distance at a time (until you push the quarter thing and they all come at once which isn't too bad either).

Drop pockets are the way to go if your ball return is loud like mine was. Who'd have thunk that the balls hitting each other wasn't the most noisy part of playing pool at home?

Now I just gotta figure out something cool to use the ball return track for.

yes where to get something like that? I've debated adding a ball return to my valley table....

where did you find the drop pockets? I have a Valley at home too.

when i purchased the table in 09, the coin op guy had them on the shelf. i offered him money for them and he was happy to get rid of them. vendor was Modern Coin in bismarck nd. don't know if they stock em or just had them laying around.

Word if caution. i had to paint sidewalls of cabinet black, you can see down into cabinet a little, and front points of the top dont sit down as well as i wouldve liked. the slope of the cabinet body and concave profile of the railtop make installation difficult. but it is close enough so that the casual observer wouldnt notice

What are the easy ways? Because I've already lined the inside of my Valley Home Table with foam and lined the entire ball return system with felt and it's still louder than I like.

I did it the cheap way. Take an old sheet that you are not using anymore and cut it into 6 pieces. Stick one piece into each hole to "plug it up". Works perfect.
