p.s. how much of it is coming up? If a lot of it is, you may want to carefully remove the whole piece and re-adhere it.

Clean the glue build up off the sides of the slate, and the slate will stop grabbing the formica on the rail cap when you lift the slate out of the cabinet. Otherwise post some pictures of what you're asking about.
