I found a Diamond pro 9'. it is one of their original tables but the guy paid Diamond last year to come out and make it a blue label table. Cherry top on walnut legs. Will need to be broken down and transported 6 hours.

Asking $3500. Worth it?

Meh not really. I'd need to see an itemized invoice of what they did first

Diamond just confirmed it to me. It was a blue label top swap. new rails, new wood "body", new skirt, new rubber. Legs, slate, and the rack under the slate is original.

Here are some images. Original is top.

The original natural lighter finish looks perfectly fine to me, other than the cherry rails obviously has new cloth. Seems strange the need for replacing? Does the $3,500 include both the original (natural) and the new (cherry) top?

The table is from late 80s/early 90s. rails needed replacing and he wanted blue label. So he paid for a top swap.

Looks like I can see the wear mark from breaking 9 ball.

You are going to want (I think need) new cloth.

6 hours transport.

After you pay a professional to do the set up work, and considering all the above, I think you are better off getting a new one.

I am confused as the leg pedestals of the table look to be matching cherry stain as well. Were they refinished or stained to match the new cherry rails/aprons? I’m guessing the new top - rails/aprons/pockets must’ve cost him $2,500 to $3,000?

Isn't a new one like 7K?

Asking price of comparables in your area? Are there even any?

I'd say this is stealing.

The owner tried to stain the legs to match. They don't match but they are a bit darker than then original walnut. I saw the invoice. He paid $2350 for the top swap at the start of 2019.

It's not stealing but I think it's worth it. A new one is about 6k. I know because I've been texting with a Diamond rep all day. :)

That's the problem. Used 9 foot pros just don't come on the market that often and certainly not near where I live (Nashville)

And I got a free 16 foot trailer worked about and a few good friends to help with transport. Probably out about $500 getting it setup once it's back here so still about $2k less than new. Not too bad.

Diamonds are going up in price/value. What you could buy 5 years ago for about $4200 now is running more like $6k

I'd be shocked if you can get a new 9-foot Diamond for $6k. I've heard more like $8k, for delivery and installation, but that might include the Diamond light as well.

I bought a new 7' pro am at the end of 2018. Table was $5,125.00 +250.00 set up, +$800.00 shipping. Grand total $6,175.00. I'd also be shocked if you could get a 9' table for anywhere close to 6K
