Nick Varner and "Dr. Cue" Tom Rossman will be at Bull Shooters in Phoenix, AZ in conjunction with the 3rd Annual Southwest Pocket Billiard Championships scheduled for Oct. 6-9. 8-Time World Champion, Varner, will be available for personal instruction, while World Artistic Champion, Rossman, will be putting on shows on Thur., Fri., and Sat. evenings.

This is going to be an excellent opportunity for players in the southwest to meet, be entertained by, interact with, and possibly learn from, two of the all-time best in their respective disciplines.

For some reason, the appearance of these two greats is being kept low key by the promoter of the tournament, so I wanted to at least get the word out here on AZB.

Both GREAT ambassadors, hope everyone that can, will make it. I've had the pleasure to see and interact with both, and a true pleasure it was!

Nick gave a four hour seminar last night at Hard Times in Sacramento and we never even took a break.

It seemed to go by very fast and while most of the time was spent on one pocket or banking, Nick does a great job conveying his thought process about strategies, shots and anything else that comes up.

I have been playing a long time and feel like I came away with information that will help my game.

Thanks for that, Jim. It seems that interest in one-pocket has grown greatly here in the last few years (probably because of Scott Frost), so maybe Nick can garner a good turnout from the one-pocket players.

And for those who think they have seen it all; just wait until they get a load of Dr. Cue!
