Wow, a whole thread devoted to losing to morons! I will literally drool on myself every time one of these guys asks me to play AND YOU GUYS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THEM!

That's exactly what I was gonna say.

These are great stories

These are great stories. I'm still wondering why they would not sell you that house cue for $100 though!

The last guy I gambled with, is similar to all the guys you've mentioned. If he could, He'd shoot a cheese shot before the break, Or on a full rack of 9ball.

But, I ended up playing the guy some 20$ sets, and I win the first set 5-1, and then he wins 5-1. Well, I really got my shyt together and played tough. I was playing safe atleast once a rack lol. Not once did I have a break n run. I just was playing safe when need be. And playing very smart.

We had atleast 3 racks that ended up being a saftey war, which I came out on top because, I was playing it so he was the one who would break up the cluster or miss on the saftey.

I ended up winning the next two sets and he quit.

But I felt like I played very smart for the nite because, of the saftey's I played and how I approached everything. And yes, the guy did shoot some hail mary cheese shots at the 9ball, and a few of them fell, but he also missed more of them, than he made, and sometimes left me with a cheese shot of my own :)

I agree with John and Jude 100%. The sight of an opponent who rides the nine gives me a warm tingly feeling, and it makes my palm itch!

If you were to keep a count over a period of time, you would find that riding the cheese results in a sellout more often than not. Certainly, there's no way that it should result in beating a solid player over the long haul.

Simply put, if you're getting beat by someone who rides the nine, then you're not playing well enough. Instead of worrying about his luck, concentrate on improving your skill level, and focus on playing an airtight game--breaking with control, running out when you're supposed to, executing good safeties, and playing the percentages. If you do that, no ball banger is going to beat you with any regularity--period!
