I have the opportunity to trade for a Verl Horn sneaky Pete cue, being this maker has been gone for 15 years I was not familiar with the name at all until I looked around online.. Has anyone played with one? Just curious as to how they hit, feel, etc....

It's a Sneaky Pete....don't worry about it....get the darn cue.....it's made by Verl Horn and the cue has your specs, just get it.
Heck, I'll buy it.......if you see a Kohara SP cue, just get it..........same applies to Tim Scruggs, Mike Cochran, Bill Stroud, etc.

All if these SP cues will play similar.....the differences will be joint type and ferrules.....some could have an ivory joint......hardly a
sneaky pete in my opinion.....more akin to a fancy pete........but some SP cues indeed have an ivory joint.......phenolic/wood......
some SP cues had collars.....or wood to wood which is my favorite.....and of course...type pin.

If you see a SP cue cue by Verl Horn, and everything is straight and it also has your specs, you will love the cue.......same applies
to those other cue-makers I mentioned. Great name cue-makers make great cues and SP are the perfect example because weight
balance is so much more simplified......no fancy rings, inlays, wrap, etc.....all of which are weight considerations for balance and feel.....
shafts will not have any brass if the shafts are flat faced......and there's no A bolt in the cue butt.......balance is what it is......SP cues
are like vanilla ice cream....can't go wrong unless you're lactose intolerant.
