Very impressed with Zinzola's playability

Thought I would post this on the main page, because more people will see it. Maybe it should be in cue reviews, but here it is anyway. Below is a link to the particular cue I'm refering to.

I've seen several Zinzola's the past 5 months or so on AZB and I finally pulled the trigger on one. I knew Tony's cues were beautiful, but wasn't sure how they played. I got this cue yesterday morning and have put a few hours play on it the last two days. I honestly didn't want to put this cue down, because it plays so good. When I think of this cue and the way it is built, it reminds me of other cues that I have and play with(South West,Lambros, and Sugartree). This cue is all three of those rolled into one and that's why I think it plays so good. Big brass pin like South West, piloted joint like Lambros, and fat shaft from the joint area for about 6 inches before it starts tapering like Sugartree.

Props to Tony Zinzola for building one of the best cues that I've ever played with and I've played with a lot of different custom cues so I feel qualified. I new Tony's cues looked nice, but I didn't know I was missing out on the best part, the way they play. Keep up the good work Tony Z. I hope you continue to build cues for a long time to come.

Thanks for reading and I'd like to here a few opinions from some others that have played with Zinzola's before. For those that haven't, you're missing out. Please DO NOT post anything personal about Tony in this thread, it is meant for replies as to how you think his cues play.

Thanks again, Jerry

Yes, it should be in cue reviews ;)

Funny you just posted this because just last night I ran into a guy that had a couple of Zinzola cues and tried them for a few shots. Nice hit, reminded me of the hit of a Schick, but I did not like the balance much on either cues, was a bit butt heavy and the shaft taper and size was not what I like.

That's Great and its a Sharp looking cue,,, i Talked to Tony several times he seems like a Really nice guy I'm gonna have him Re-Wrap one of my cues,, i just have to find the time to get it too him

That was my 1st impression too on the balance and the shafts. But after I played a few racks it just felt perfect. The cue only weighs 18.5 and that's too light for me, but being weighted a little towards the butt end made it feel 19+ oz. in my stroke hand. I love longer pro tapers, but again after a few racks Tony's taper just felt right, too. The butt is real thin and it took a few racks for it to feel right, as well. The great hit and feel is what takes this cue over the top.

Thanks for the reply, Jerry

Thanks for the compliment and I suggest you let Tony put elephant ear wrap on your cue.
