VF Putnam vs Souquet

Souquet is up 3-2 in the 2nd set. Ralf hit the rack bad, didn't break the balls up very well and scratched. Shawn is slowly threading needles trying to work out of the stack. He's got all but one problem ball broken out.
 
Shawn broke it out nicely and just missed an easy cut shot in the corner on the 8 ball. the whole room just sighed loudly.... it's heartbreaking to watch, especially after he just made such a difficult out to get there.
 
The finals at this event are more fun with Shawn in them and Frank being the tournament director. Frank is a stand up comic and Shawn has a fun personality...they feed off of each other and usually get the crowd laughing.
 
Ralf is as nice of a person as you'll ever meet but you can't help but pull for Shawn as he is the underdog here....

Ralf is on the hill 4-2 in the 2nd set and it's Shawn's break
 
Shawn pocketed 2 balls on the break & almost scratched in the side pocket. Both stripes & solids have a couple of balls tied up.
 
Ralf didn't pocket a ball on the break but the cue is on the end rail partially blocked by a ball....Shawn made a nice cut in the side to get the cue in line.
 
Shawn just got out of line...pocketed the last ball but hasn't left himself anything on the 8.... he can see it but it's a backwards cut 3/4 of the table length into the corner
 
Shawn missed it by about a half inch..... Ralf's balls are spread out....
 
WOW, Ralf just jawed his 1st shot by slow rolling it.... Shawn had a short rail side pocket bank on the 8 & missed....None of the balls are tied up & Ralf is back at the table....
 
Ralf just defeated Shawn.... heartbreaking for Shawn as he just didn't have what it took to get there today.

Just wanted to thank you again, Timberly. I know I wouldn't be able to hold out on the cancer sticks that long while sitting and reporting on the matches. You're a fighter!;)
