I bought this "Vhante 2008" cue as a ressurection project. The buttsleeve had a couple cracks in it, there was no shaft and the butt had chips, dents and a slight bow.
Off it went to one of my builders with the hope we could save the wrap and signature as well as saving the buttsleeve while sealing the cracks.
So here it is and I must say it looks great!
The buttsleeve was reinforced with a birdseye endcap that was glued to the inner radius of the snakewood to prevent the cracks from opening up again.
If I didn't tell you it was previously cracked you would have to look pretty hard to see any evidence of it. The picture of the buttsleeve shows where the main repair was done.
The forearm still has a few MINOR nicks towards the wrap as that section was not refinished so we could save the wrap.
The wrap is a "soft" that only natural snakeskin can bring....it is unique and awesome!
The forearm has 4 snakewood points with 3 veneers. The joint collar is also snakewood.
There is still a slight bow in the butt however the new shaft was faced so that it rolls pretty straight when assembled.
The tip is a 13mm UltraSkin Soft. The joint pin is I think a 3/8-11.
The cue weighs 18.7oz
If you want a cue that was destined for the fire but now looks and plays like a very expensive alternative, this is an excellent choice.
I'm more looking to trade than to sell and I'd estimate the value at $350.00-$400.00 in trade and $300.00 in a sale.
The cue is a real stunner in person!
