Viattorre Used Plain Cocobolo Pricing?

Wondering what a used (2 year old) Viattorre cue goes for on the secondary market. It is wrapless with no points, just plain nicely figured cocobolo. 2 Shafts with Moori tips.

My friend has one and I'm thinking of buying it, but I don't know its relative value. I loved the hit when I shot with it the first time, but I'll have to try again to see how I feel about it.

I know many will say it's worth what I'm willing to pay, and most likely I will purchase the cue, because it's going at a good price. However, I still would like to know some 'absolute' value in case I decide to sell.

Thanks,
Eric

$250-350, could be a little more depending on the joint/buttcap and the complexity of the ring work.

Thanks for the reply Aball

Do you have any idea what they go for new?

Also, what are the desirable buttcaps? Hoppe style?

Thanks in advance

How's the condition of the cue? The price shouldn't go down much if it's not warped nor if has small dings. I'm guessing that a brand new plain VCC cocobolo w/ 2 shafts & simple ring works is at least $550. If your friend is truly generous, you can probably get it at half the price :D

I've seen several BRAND NEW Viattorre's that some cue collectors/entrepreneurs sell w/ at least $150 add-on to its original value. I heard the reason for this is that the buyer no longer has to wait MORE THAN a year to have a VCC.

Good thing Viattorre Custom Cues is handcrafted and can be truly called CUSTOM CUES as they only make a limited cue based on the customer's design & specifications (that's why we can't buy a ready-made cue directly from them). With their very limited-edition custom cues & their highly established reputation, sooner or later, I believe the value of their cues should go up & even skyrocket if, I hope not any time soon, they decide to retire from cue making. :)
