Vibrations and sound of cue hit....

I have shot with a pretty wide variety of cues and noticed that cues have certain characteristics. Some you can barely feel the cueball (hardly no vibration) and others you feel the crunch of the hit from the cue ball (lots of vibration). Others have a soft sounding hit and others make a ping sounding hit. My question is, which of these characteristics are signs of a solid hitting cue?

I like a very stiff hitting cue...wrap-less, hard tip, hard ferrule, forward weighted, ect...

but....my dad likes the cues that flex alot when striking the cueball....super soft tip, soft ferrule, rear weighted cue, ect....

you'll get as many answers as there are players...

All that matters is if you like the way the cue feels, sounds and moves the cue ball. I have seen a few stainless jointed pingy sounding cue cues that moved the cue ball great, but I did not like the sound. I have seen cues that were as quiet as a mouse that also moved the cue ball great. So there is no best playing answer for you.
