Just converted from VHS and uploaded this pro tour championship from 1994. Final stop of that year -- held in Owensboro, Kentucky. Video length is a bit more than 90 mins.

Kim Davenport in a suspenseful semi vs Jeff Carter, then an incredibly exciting final between Kim and Buddy Hall. Steve Mizerak and Nick Varner provide excellent commentary. This one’s a real treat for Davenport fans (myself definitely included). What an outstanding player!

Second match starts at exactly 45:22

Enjoy.

Wonder what the deal was with Davenport leaning his non playing cue so far down on the spectator's table. Just seemed like he was going out of his way to do that.

Do you have....

Archer vs Davenport at the same Championship a few years later?

It was one of the first matches I saw to get me interested in the game and would love to find a copy.

great match! man i miss days of watching these on espn.
That's the beauty of Youtube. No matter what period of history we're interested in, or what activity -- peaceful & productive, or warlike & destructive -- if it's ever been dealt with via the visual arts throughout history, or recorded via cameras of any kind (motion or still) it all has, and will, turn up in visual (and highly instructive) form somewhere on Youtube.

We can in effect, relive or at least entertainingly revisit plenty of past experiences and performances. It's exciting for any of us AZB-ers to be able to contribute good pool events that we were fortunate enough to have VHS-ed in their time, the recordings of which would otherwise be gathering dust and inevitably be deteriorating, but for readily available and inexpensive modern means of digitizing and sharing them.

I grew up well before the advent of even household-television itself, so I'm especially interested in the fortunate relationship of Youtube to classic pool events that inevitably reinvigorate present-day players and inspire future ones.
