Video - 2008 China Open

ok, i love snooker and i love watching it, but if one more person tries to tell me how tight there tables are, I'm going to puke! when Fu hangs up the 7, at the 2:30 mark against O'sullivan, there's at least room enough for another ball! but anyway, thanks for posting, it's some great footage!

Disagree that another ball fits but generally the Snooker Tables in the US are much tighter-Im not sure why this is. "Because they play golf on them" does not seem to be a good answer as far as Im concerned.

Hi Jeremy,

I can tell you that match pockets on a snooker table should be roughly 81 millimeters in width at the drop of the pocket, and with a regulation snooker ball being 52.5 millimeters (2 1/16 inches) in diameter there should never be enough room for two balls to fit into a pocket at the same time.

But it's not primarily the width of the pocket that determines how tight it is, it's the cut of the rubber leading into the pocket.

Best wishes.

Alan.
