That sucks.
Seems to me that if the original cost to Homer was a little less than $100, then $60 shipped was a fair price. About $10 for PayPal & Shipping would net Homer $50, which was about 1/2 of the price he paid for the videos - about right for a used item in my opinion. But on the other hand, Homer was wrong in asking for more money but seemed pretty nice in his pm's and apologized for not seeing the total picture. I think I would have offered to pay $4.00 for half of the shipping cost and let it go from there. Either that or get my money back because that was the price agree upon. I'm sorry to see the hard feelings over just a few bucks and feel empathy toward both parties.
You're right about the hard feelings for a few bucks, but there are certain principles that sellers should adhere to. I agreed to his set price, and he backed out after I had already paid because he felt he priced the items too cheap. That is just the wrong thing to do. He should have looked at it as a cheap lesson so that he could price his items right the next time he sells something. Most other buyers on AZ would have been just as mad as I was, but I never was rude to him in my pm's.
I would have just split the $8 with him (you paying $4), and forgot about it. Jeeez...your gonna lose the videos that YOU WANTED over four bucks ? And then to tell him to eat it and let that be a lesson to him ? I think in this instance here....he DID learn a lesson....and to me, you kinda look like the bad guy for not cutting him some slack. He was polite, and refunded your money right away. So in the end, you now have no videos...basically over a few dollar discrepancy. He made a mistake....relax a little.
