I live here in the States. A couple of years back, I bought a UK proxy subscription (foxyproxy), and I watch the 24-hour delayed stream of the BBC snooker broadcasts on their iplayer (for the non-BBC stuff, I watch on http://www.worldsnooker.livesport.tv/, like you said).

Do the sources you cited require a proxy for viewing? Are they live? Are they only live? Do they have the BBC commentary? Is there a playback capability (for those of us that are GMT-challenged)?

Thanks for all the sources.

No proxies or software downloads required.

Live, but can get a bit weird - commentary a couple of shots ahead of the video

BBC is tough to find.
BBC is very protective of its product.
I could get BBC 2 yesterday.
Today it was blocked.
Have no idea what success I'll have tomorrow.
Sometimes BBC doesn't seem to care about feeds for the early rounds.
So you simply have to experiment.

If you check out the schedules you will find some rebroadcasts.

If you want a reliable stream for both tables pay World Snooker.

No playback

For updated info, this is a good site
http://www.snooker.org/res/index.asp?template=24&event=297
The site is 1 hr earlier than the UK time zone.
Trust that will confuse the h*** out of you.

My guess is the 2 in form players this season to go all the way -Ronnie to win 6th or Ding to win his 1st :)

I literally can't wait for this to kick off! Probably the one sporting event I look forward to each year. I've got tickets for Wednesday the 30th and I think its for Ronnie's side, so hopefully ill be able to watch him do his thing. I got to watch Bingham v Ronnie last year and Bingham got destroyed, we went to Nandos right after the session and Bingham came in soon after and sat on the table next to our group. Our table was in silence, we didn't know what to say to a guy who just got completely outplayed!

Who will win? I couldn't possibly call it just yet, too many quality players.

Scaramouche,

I recall a few weeks ago Barry Hearn mentioned some changes and surprises to this year's tourney, any idea what he was referring to?

Bump! - For my fellow pool players that need some Tuesday morning inspiration... This is going to be one HECK of a snooker match! If you don't know the rules, it's okay; you'll learn as you watch, and you will see some incredible play - even if you don't understand the rules. Trust me on this, it's worth watching!

Free up some time to watch the 8:30 AM CST match this morning on BBC Two.

This link has been working perfectly for me:
