Floyd Reasons won the amateur event.
Sorry, this is all I've heard so far...

He is solid I played him in Marietta about 12 years ago. I won a little bar table tourney and we played a race to 10 for first and second money (around 300 I think) he missed 1 ball the whole set on the small track and he hooked me when he did miss I ran the first three he put 4 on me missed I couldn't kick it in he ran 3 more froze me to a ball then ran out the set. I was there with Cracker Jack Hynes who gave him the 7 ball on the big tables for a dime and he quit us after one ahead set.
MikeJanis said:Huckster, I'll keep an eye on him but his poor performances in the Open Viking events definately give him the status of being an Amateur.
Additionally, the Amateur events police themselves in most cases. 1st of all, at the event NOBODY complained or mentioned that any player except 1 that didn't even cash might night qualify as a true Amateur because he was at one time considered top local talent. 2nd, our current rules for the AM events state that if you win 2 AM events you are no longer allowed to compete in the Viking Am events. 3rd If you place in the top 4 of any Viking Tour Am events 3 X's you are also no longer allowed to compete in the Am events.
