Viking with 314-2 shaft

Hi guys,
I have a Viking F76, with the QR joint. I ordered a Predator 314-2 from Seyberts billiards for the Viking butt. The shaft fits fine, except that the butt is slightly thicker than the shaft. So when the shaft and butt are assembled, there is a bit of a ridge where the two pieces meet. I want to know if this is normal, or if Seyberts sold me the wrong shaft for my Viking. Has anybody had this problem before, and will it affect how the cue plays? Let me know what you think. Thanks,

Matt

Last time I checked all Vikings with the QR joint had near the same joint collar diameter. Either you got a factory freak, or Seyberts sent you a 5/16x18 threaded shaft, which would fit the viking QR joint. How bad is the misfitting?

My OB-1 ordered for the Viking QR joint matches up perfectly. F-77 cue for reference.

I have an F-55 and there is a slight difference in the two, but not enough to notice by looking at it. You have to "feel" it to tell.

It is normal!
It is almost impossible to perfect fit a shaft without sending in the butt and custom fitting the shaft.

Easy way to know - on the face of the shaft's joint should be a "V" that means the shaft was created for Viking.
In most cases a regular 5/16x18 shaft won't fit the Viking pin.

The difference is very slight. Like bigdog said... you have to feel it, or look very closely. The shaft does not have a V or anything like that on it. I remember reading in another post about how Predator doesnt make a shaft for the Viking QR. Apparently they use a regular 5/16x18 joint and drill it with a 17/64 drill bit. This was actually confirmed by Barry Hart from Viking when i asked him if a regular 5/16x18 joint would fit my Viking QR. Well, from your guys responses, it doesnt sound like a big deal. Thanks for your input.
