Vintage cue and case information needed

It's possible, but it looks like that other plastic

The buttsleeve is split, I bet there is a square wood dowel hammered in there
A wood dowel hammered into here? It looks more like a drilled and threaded hole with a tapered opening fitted nicely to match the taper on the bolt. Old wood drying and developing a crack is not unusual. Funny thing though, I just repaired a cue last night with three splits in it where the bumper pushes in. It is a very old well made cue. I don't think it's a Bushka, but it's certainly not a Taiwan. No way is that a Taiwan shaft, Bumper, Butt cap, Wrap, or ferule. Too many nice things to be a cheapo import. I look forward to seeing the results of the refinish. looking at the pictures again I can see tell the whole thing was sprayed over with a rattle can many moons ago.
P.O.S. either.

Remove the buttcap, it wouldn't shock me to see a square dowel inside that buttsleeve

The wrap is not quality and looks like a 70s import, and the veneers are definitely Taiwan. Wouldn't surprise me if someone took a cheapo and dolled it up

The buttcap is not made like vintage makers cues from America

I agree that it should look nice with a refinish. Would like to see photos with the wrap removed

I would like to see it the wrap removed as well. I hope the O.P. is following along
I see standard issue Irish linen. What do you see? Yes, people do and did make nicer cues out of cheaper blanks at times. Frank Paradise
made one for a friend of mine out of a carved handle style cue. With the clear window window and some nice rings. It was very cool. It probably ended up in a pawn shop somewhere about 20 years ago. (R.I.P. Don!) it was an awesome player and so was Don.
Anyway, It's an interesting cue and it gives us something to talk about!

No kidding. It looks to be relatively well made. I will say now that I'm looking at it on my home monitor it does look like there's some blue that has bled into the natural in the veneers. Regardless, as long as it's straight and hits decent, I'd clean that bad boy up, maybe consider a new ferrule and tip, and play the hell out of it.
Agreed. If she's straight, and has an acceptable weight/balance point, use it as a bar-banger, or give it to a friend as a starter cue.
😎

I don't think anything has bled into the veneers particularly blue. There are no blue veneers and its on the top rather than bleeding in from the edges. I'm pretty certain that it is a well magnified view of chalk dust.

Idk boss. Check out the quality of the maple in the forearm of the butt above the inlay. Neither figured or birds eye, the grain isn't particularly attractive.
That should tell you all you need to know about where it was made. Maybe. Lol

I see what you mean. (y) And I hadn't thought about chalk dust on the forearm area. But after thinking about it, I can 100% see how it could get there from inside a case. That's particularly true for a cue that obviously hasn't been treated like somebody's baby.
