The cue has been sold. Thanks for looking.
This listing is for a vintage Dale Perry custom cue.
The cue rolls pretty straight, but not perfect.
There is a very slight roll out (taper roll out), but the tip remains flat on the table when the cue is rolled.
I would like to start off by saying that I think the DP cue is rare, and I am sure that it is not one of the cues that he builds for his ebay auctions.
I believe that it is one of his older very well made good quality cues from back before he started auctioning his cues off on ebay.
For one thing, he has always put his signature in the forearm of every ebay cue that I have ever seen of his through the years, and the DP cue that I have does not have his signature in the forearm.
It just had his DP logo in the butt cap.
Another thing is that I do not think he ever used the Uni-Loc joint on any of his ebay cues.
All of the DP cues that I have ever seen (over the years) from his auctions have the Radial pin on them.
I am not sure, but I think the 12 white diamond shaped inlays (4 in the points, and 8 in the butt) are all real ivory, because I can see grain (that appears to be ivory) in the inlays.
The cue is 58 inches long.
The weight of the butt is 15.8oz, and the weight of the shaft is 3.7oz (for a total weight of 19.5oz).
The forearm of the cue has maybe 3 or 4 very small nicks/dings in it (that are not really noticeable) and the butt below the wrap has a few nicks/dings on it (not deep), and the very buttom near the rubber bumper has some finish wear in it.
Overall, I think the cue is in decent condition.
I believe this is a rare older and very well made DP cue.
I believe this is a rare older and very well made DP cue, and much higher quality then anything that he has ever built to auction off on ebay, but that is just my personal opinion (based on my experience with 3 DP cues that I have purchased over the years from his ebay auctions).
I also think that the ferrule is ivory.
I would like $150 shipped for the cue.
Thanks
