Virgin High End Cue

If you owned a high end custom cue, could you leave it alone locked away in it's case. Or would you have to hit it once just one time, maybe one rack of 9-ball or a favorite game of 14.1? Not that I own one, but I could not be that disciplined, I'll admit, I'd have to hit it once.
 
ummm i'd use it to play with all the time!!!!!

Whats the point of having a cue you dont use?

I could see the point if you had a Bushka or Guz Boti, but even then i would have to take them for a drive just to give them some love.
 
certain cuemakers built playing cues and they SHOULD be played with, imo.

Is there such a thing as a Virgin Cue. Tell me, is there a cuemaker that never test hit the stick they make? :confused:

Cues were made to hit balls.
There is no sense in having a great cue, if all you are going to do is let it sit in a case. JMHO.

i'd surmise that today, with all that extensive,expensive machinery,,,,computers,,,oversaturation of "cuemakers",,,and the availabilty of info, that there has been a strong push to build clever cues with poor quality woods(maybe because of the abundance of cuemakers scooping up all the quality materials) = cues built for show not for dough.

I wouldn't know. The few custom cues I own are all good playing cues.
If someone is making cues just for show, I don't think they will stay in business long. A cue makers bread and butter is still the less fancy playing cues.
 
I play with all of my cues. I don't know if my cues are considered "high end" (they certainly are to me...lol) but I can't forsee owning a cue that I'd never play with.
 
I play and break with all of my cues.. I almost picked up a Tad last year, and decided not too. The only difference is if I dropped that much on a cue I probably wouldn't break with it, for fear of missing the cueball and putting dents in the shaft (doesn't happen often, but...) or possibly whacking the but on the table (done it once in my life). I'd play with it though..

To echo others, it costs that much becuase of it's renouned playabillity, why not excersize it's best attribute? Kinda like buying a ferrari to let it sit in the garage.. Probably wouldn't use it as my daily driver, but I'd certainly take it for a spin on the weekends. ;)
