Cory Duels great 8 ball shot was the product of understanding his ability to move the 8 and where it could potentially be pocketed.
I shoot a little warm up shot to highten my concentration , gain knowledge of table speed, and check table roll off. I place a object ball along the end rail 1/4" more then a ball width off the diamond nearest the far corner pocket. I place the cueball on the rail and try and cut the object ball into the side pocket. It can be made but requires great accuracy and speed control. A little table rollout usually hurts more then it helps.
So a great player is watching me and says that is a tough shot I believe I would cut it and try and double kiss it in. He made it on his 3rd try.
