I have played against Tony a couple of times in team events, but don't recall ever playing a singles match. He was on fire all day when I watched him play. In my match I won the flip, broke and ran out. He broke and ran. I break dry next 2 and he ran both. I finally got a shot the last game and shot it into the rail. I must have be sleeping I guess. He played great and deserves a lot of respect for all the racks he ran.
Congratulations to my friend Dan {waldo} Walton for a great tourney too.
yes, I watched his last 5 matches including the match against you and he was definately lighting it up. It isnt like he was playing over his head or anything though. He is a very strong player who also happened to be in stroke. It sure looked like he was going to make things interesting against Waldo the way that first set started but Waldo showed a lot of heart as well as his true ability and is a very deserving champion...again congrats on your teams success

Willie, I didn't even know you were there. My team, Mixed Nuts, was the defending Masters Champs. We won the title again this year by defeating, I think they're called, 5 Rotten eggs. Tina Larsen played with them this year and they played a great tournament. My team won the winners bracket and they had to beat us twice. They thumped us the first set by about 80 balls I think. The second set they slowed down a little and we picked up staem and managed to beat them to win the title.
Waldo won the Masters singles by beating a big guy named Tony I think. I think he's from Ft.Wayne. Not sure exactly as he put me in a bit of a coma when he knocked me out in 4th place. I lost my first match and came thru the losers side winning around 8 matches in a row.
Preferably on Top, from Ft. Wayne won the Ladies Open Team. They're a great bunch and I'm proud of them.
Best of luck to all of you who are going to Vegas this year for any of the events. Sam

Congrats on regrouping and winning. You all played very well and I was impressed. After the 1st match. How you all wanted it and you did take it.
YOU ALL DESERVE SNAPS.

I was there. It was my first IN Vnea tourney and I was pretty impressed just with the atmosphere and size. Much better than Michigan's.

Congrats to Sunny and Tina, who I now see post to this board. Lucky for me, I didn't have to face you Sunny but my teammate did. I think I saw Tina a time or two, and even saw Rachel Abbink strolling the hallways once.

I don't like the IN rules, tho, that say if your team places in the open (in the top four, I think?) all the girls must play individually as Masters the next year. My team placed third, and I feel like I missed an opportunity to do better in the open when I had a chance. Thirteenth ain't shabby but I should've done better and next year I'll be playing with the big girls, damnit. Guess I'll just have to learn this friggin' game after all. ;)

Thanks JennyC

JennyC.

Thanks! I was told Michigan girls were doing real good too! I didn’t play VNEA in Michigan so I didn’t even notice rules were different from state to state. But I do remember the MI's State being held at the Kellogg’s arena. Not very player friendly and tires you out even more :( !

This was very memorable event. I never played team events before and it was rather special moment bonding with my teammates. I was always afraid that my “bull headed personality” would create drama, but the mixture was just right with this team and we did great.

Lot$$$ of action was all around me…I was always 2 minutes too late from getting in:mad: !!!

JennyC – finishing top 13 out of 133 girls is DANM GOOD!!! There is no Shabby-ness about it!

Tina – Thanks for the entertainment;) and see you all next year!

Yes. A smaller event. I did a bit better there but in the open it was only a race to two. That was scary. The playing facilities weren't as nice but the rooms were as nice and cheaper than Adam's Mark.

Yes, you did. I kept secretly hoping you guys would lose before we'd have to play you. But I felt bad hoping you'd lose because Lena's such a sweetheart.

Thank you for the kind words. I was happy to get some money back but disappointed that I kinda fell apart the last match.

Can't wait for both events next year.

I had seen your picture before, and recognized the name. Then I start hearing how you were running out from everywhere on all the other teams. Let's just say I was impressed with your game. You have a very smooth stroke and move the cueball extremely well. I watched get out of some tuff racks. If you're going to the VNEA in Vegas, and you're in need of a Scotch Doubles partner, I'd love to have you as a partner. I'm sure you've already got someone lined up, but if anything happens, let me know. Your whole team played some great sets. Congratulations to all of you. Sam:)

Sam, I'm sorry not going to vnea this year. But if you wanna hook up next year for valley I'M IN. Thx for all the nice comments. never played valley before but willing to take a wack at it.
