I'll be there playing in both singles and team. Last year was the first time I had ever been and was a bit overwhelmed at first and did poorly in the singles.
I was mad because I let people beat me that couldnt hold a candle to me so in the team event I was out to destroy. First 18 games I shot a 177 out of a possible 180. After that I quit keeping track of wins but instead kept track of how many balls I gave up. Played a few matches giving up 12 balls or less and even got accused of being a higher ranking than what I was playing in.
My team has all been joking with me last month or two saying they hope I get my butt handed to me again in the singles so I will be out for revenge again lol
Word of advice, get there at the minimum two hours early. I plan on going up Tues. night to be well rested on Wed. and have plenty of time to get used to the table speed. I was a bit blown away last year when I seen the bracket took up an entire wall of the convention center. I think there was 600+ people in that division and it took me 45 minutes to find my name.
I may be wrong, but I think someone with a very similar username took some lessons from Scott Lee at about the same time I did last year. Was that you?
Wish you the best and we will have to check back in here after it is over and let each other know how we did.
I did work with Scott Lee work with Scott last year. I rememeber he was working with someone that lived a little ways south of where I live.
I am planning on heading over Wed morning, its only a little over an hour drive for me. I was thinking about driving back and forth but was afraid of playing late then needing to be there early so I booked my hotel yesterday.
Hopefully we will run into each other between matches.
Beware of Woody, he is a friend of mine. Most importantly, his attitude has changed, got serious, better focused and frankly has become a very, very strong player in the area.
While I dont want to sound like "Jimmy the Greek", but count on seeing him late in the week.
