This is my first year in any league so i have nothing to compare it to. There are things i like and there are a few thing i think they need to work on. From day one, i was shocked at how little pool we got to play. 4 man teams, you play each opponent 1 game for a total of 4 games a night, once a week. Being a traveling league is cool and fair i think, but on the nights you travel a long ways, it seems silly to go that far for 4 games. Something i really like about league is the team effort it requires. Pool has always been a one on one game for me. Its a different and fun approach to pool when your counted on as part of a team. I think the scoring and handicapping need to be rethought. Presently, we are in second place for rounds won, and all rated 9's. However, we have won more games and have more points than the first place team, who by the way are all rated 8's. ??? Another plus is qualifying for the state tourney. I think this will be fun. Personally i think that anyone should be able to play in the state tourney, whether or not they are in a league. If they are worried about financial support, just make non league players pay an extra $25 or so entry fee. All in all it has been a fun experience and its nice to meet new players from around the valley.

In the VNEA league in my city we have 4 man teams but we play 5 rounds of pool. Play each player from the other team once and then use the scores from the first four rounds to determine the order/matchups for the 5th round. Lowest score plays lowest score and highest against highest. This only gives you one more game per night but it is still usually a 3.5 hours night out so I would say that is enough for a pool league.

Not sure how you guys keep your scores but here it is 1 point for each round won and 1 point for the overall ball total giving a possible 6 points per night. Players averages are calculated by total balls divided by total games played.
