Volturi Case to Matched Set

Just recently, Volturi Cases began showcasing and selling a couple of cases here. The carving and tooling looked very good and creative; construction looked solid. Since the asking price was more than reasonable, I inquired about a custom 2x4, fully tooled (carved body, lid, pockets, shoulder strap, the works) case with 2 pockets. Immediately, Roger got back to me and the discussion of what I wanted started. A few emails later, I decided on a Sheridan style case, dyed with at least 2 colors, to match a set of Klapp cues.

I appreciated Roger’s prompt and frequent emails with photo updates, questions and suggestions. Each email with photos was like opening another Christmas gift. Here are some photos (directly from Roger but organized by me for sake of easier viewing and my apologies for the last iPhone pic of the entire set) of the process plus the finished set. The color matching was all done by photos and I think he did an excellent job. What’s more amazing… he completed this in less than 15 days (including shipping)!

I've mentioned my suggestions and given my feedback to Roger directly after receiving the case:
1. The top lid's handle, in my opinion, needs at least another layer of leather to "beef it up" or like the handle on the body, a wrap-around and grommet-ed handle.
2. Instead of using a rotating latch (where half of the load is when carrying by the lid's handle), maybe use 2 snaps.
3. Both pockets have 2 zippers, one on each side. Even when fully unzipped, doesn't give enough room to put your [partial] hand/fingers in to get to accessories.
4. A couple of areas had what appears to be dye splotches (?) where one color accidentally got on it, dried, and the other color put on top. Not terribly noticeable but it's there and I know this can be avoided and tighten up.

Overall a well constructed and symmetric case. Uniform stitching and grommets with solid hardware (less the latch). Body handle and shoulder strap all well integrated, functional and comfortable - should last a long time. A nice touch was including a couple extra zipper pulls in case one gets damaged or lost.

My sincere thanks and appreciation for excellent communication, quality and fast shipping. Glad to see a newcomer in the industry and look forward to another case!

All the best from germany ,Maik

The final picture of the case and your cues shows (much better than any of the working pictures) how nicely the case suits the cues. As for 15 days including shipping, that's truly amazing. 15 days would be faster than I could imagine if he lived next door to you!! Nice case, customer service, and amazing time to receipt.

Congrats on getting a case that you obviously are very happy with.

That was built with passion... Only one man touched that case ... Tkx for posting joe...

Maybe only one man "touched" this case during the build but it sure wasn't you.

The case was also built with a design put in a computer and laser engraved so that all that needed to be done was bevel it and stamp the background quickly. The beveling is sloppy. No actual carving was done on this leather as far as I can tell.

So no wonder a case with this much "bling" can be done in 15 days. If it looks this shitty and is done using methods that are NOT hand carving then yes. This is the same as using a CNC to make points and then lying and saying the points were hand cut.
