Want a table, how much would you expect to spend?

I am in the market for a table for my first home. I enjoy playing barbox pool and having a smaller table really helps with the spacing issues that people run into.

What is a reasonable price to pay for a nice used valley table? what about a black crown or gold crown? diamond? etc?


Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
 
I would say most gold crowns are in the price range of 1k-2k with the nicer/newer ones costing more.

For a barbox I see a lot of valley's or dynamos going for around 500-1k.

I would look on craigslist and search all areas for "pool" and just see what you come up with. Lots of tables, cues, swimming pools, but it also searches all catergories which is helpful since a lot times, they are posted in general, furniture, and/or sporting.

I would also consider like a 7' olhausen if I were you. I see them going for 500-1k but maybe thats because there are so many in my area.

Tables

Yes, I also see old valley and dynamos all the time for 400 and up depending on age. Unfortunately I need to sell my 9' Gabriels table because I'm bumping walls in my new house. Frustrating. Come buy it, I'm just a hop, skip, and a jump from Canada, ha, ha.

I would go for the Diamond myself; however, they are expensive as far as 7 foot tables go. But they are the best to practice on because their pockets are much tougher than a Valley or Dynamo. I just checked the web and it appeared that they were between $3,500 - $5,000, which is expensive for a 7 foot table.

I am pretty sure that you should be able to find a good Valley, Cougar or Dynamo for between $500 - $1,500.

I do know from house searching that it will be much easier to find a house to fit in a 7 foot table rather than a 9 foot table. I always have issues when moving, finding a house big enough to accommodate a 9 foot table. For some reason they like to cut up houses into small rooms for some reason.

A good rule of thumb is three months' wages... Oh, wait, that's engagement rings. Yeah, what they said.

I learned that rule, thats where the house comes into play...... a ring is never just a ring!
