I just picked one up, but not interested in parting with...yet.

The butt on mine looks different from the others I have seen. It was not id'd in the auction as a Meucci, and I don't have it yet, so there may be faint remnants of the original Meucci label. Perhaps it's just a piece of cr*p, but it was cheap and I figured I could trade it to Jimbo for his collection. Thoughts as to what this all-black butt indicates about age, model, etc.?

Scott, where is the Meucci name? My first thought was that someone replaced the butt cap at some point. The rubber bumper looks different at that angle also.

That makes sense. I haven't received the cue yet, so I don't know if it has "Meucci" anywhere - the seller did not say it was a Meucci, so I'm guessing no "Meucci" name.

I knew it was an old Meucci so I bought it to see how they play. Now I need a 12.75mm no-dot shaft for it (this one's 12mm).

Here is a better picture of the butt:

My guess would be that is what happened. If so, and you did get into it cheap, you might want to send it back to Meucci at their new factory in Byhalia, MS and have a new buttcap put on it, new no dot shaft, etc. They just completed their move a couple of weeks ago, so they should not take as long as in the past. Call Mark at 800-563-8224 or their repair line at 662-895-3220.

Thanks Joe. So they make new 'no dot' shafts that are made like the originals?

thats not a meucci. there was a company that made some meucci knockoffs, i can't remember their name, but the 4s was one of them. take a look at the joint collar on the shaft and also the rubber bumper on the butt.

Thanks for the info - I look forward to getting it next week and examining.

Not too worried - I can always sell/trade to someone who can't afford an old used Meucci!

You will find also companies that are participated in security ripoffs and when you hire individuals companies you will see a genuine threat for that security of the assets along with other belongings. So it's very important to discover the real company which could supply you trustworthy locksmith professional services. However all of the genuine companies won't be an expert one. When you are approaching a business to consider this type of service from the security provider then its always better to understand about the kind of service supplied by it.
