Hello all,
I'm trying to find a sledgehammer jump/break and I'm having a bit of trouble. I can't figure out what is actually available from either babysproshop.com or sledgehammerinc.com. Does anyone know what sledgehammers are actually available and where I can find one? Any help would be much apreciated!

Thanks!

I've got one for sale. Perfect Condition. I will take 225.00 shipped. It is the original sledgehammer -19 oz. It has the birdseye maple forearm. PM me if interested. Thanks!
Anthony

> The one Anthony has here is probably an original, although Mike himself only made like 100 or so before he outsourced them, even the import versions are pretty good. The word around the campfire is that the ones made by McDermott now are absolute CRAP,even though they might be built better and have a better warrantee from McD,the hit has gone through the floor. how do you tell an original? I bought mine last feb, it says sledgehammer on the butt and mikes name and patent pending. Its the maple one with the black wire wrap.

I also have a Sledgehammer available. It is Maple with a Black Irish Linen wrap $220.00 shipped PM me if you are interested.

You can buy these on e-bay all day long for 219.00 delivered and sometimes even cheaper...

You can tell if it's the original if the shaft doesn't warp after a few weeks/months.

I am currently on my, believe it or not, THIRD shaft.

I had the original that warped after a few months, then the second after a few weeks, then I had Mike put a "custom" shaft and joint pin, and it now hits like a mofo. The custom shaft, IMO, is worth the extra money, but you have to decide for yourself. If the shaft didn't warp, I don't think I would have had any kind of problem with the hit.

Let me say very clearly that after speaking with Mike twice, for about 10 minutes apiece, he cares very much about the quality of his cues. He did not sound so excited about some of the quality control issues, and was very professional about it, but I could tell that he was less than excited about some of the issues coming back to him. Mike really is a good guy, and even though I had some issues, I would not hesitate to recommend buying his cues or doing business with him..

Shaft warping? I've owned older "original", and newer SHs. Several of my friends own SHs, old and new. Nobody has ever had a hint of trouble (and they love the cues of course). Not sure why you had such bad luck there, but I don't think your experience is common.

> As long as it doesn't say Sledgehammer II on it,it's an original, before he worked out the deal with McD. I've seen one of his handmade versions though, nice birdseye in it,and just said MG Custom Cues on it. Tommy D.

I think that's great. I love my cue, and wish none of the shafts had any problems.

But again, I would be happy to buy anyting from such a nice guy, and I definitely feel taken care of as a customer for sure.

I have a Sledgehammer, very good condition, Maple with Black Wrap and Joint Protectors. $175.00 Shipped. Purchased used from an AZer less than a year ago.
