I've been looking for a copy of this book for quite a while, and I'm wondering if anyone either has one or knows where I might put my hands on a copy.

# Publisher: Billiard World Pub (May 2001)
# Language: English
# ISBN: 0936362073

I've tried all the "normal" places, including Amazon, B&N, and Google Book Search with no luck.

I've heard it's a great book.

Any help?

Thanks!

Tom

I might be wrong on this but this sounds like one of the Eddie Robin books that were planned but never actually published. He DOES have a Winning One Pocket book that sells for over a hundred bucks but he only put out three books:

Winning One Pocket
Shots, Moves & Strategies (one pocket)
Position Play in Three Cushion Billiards

Average cost to pick up all three is about 400 bucks. The other planned books have been teasing people for years now. Eddie Robins lives in Las Vegas and has issues with his health. Rumours of him publishing another book have resurfaced last year but I doubt it will happen.

If you don't have limited funds, look for them on ebay or you might want to contact Deno Andrews about the books. He's a member here and also has a website (3cushion.com) . These books are some of the best ones out there.

Phil Cappelle has a straight pool book out that is excellent for beginners and intermediates at straight pool.

I used to visit Eddie occasionally when I lived in Las Vegas last year, and the Winning Straight Pool never was published. He is also working on a title called Winning 9 Ball. If the books ever get to print remains to be seen.

If you can find the 3 Robins' books for $400.00 I would jump on that quick. Last I saw, these books in like new condition were much more. I believe you can find them at http://www.pooltablemagic.com/memorabilia_2.html . You could probably at least get new condition "Winning One Pocket" and "Shots, Moves, and Strategies" from Paul Shorzman of Classic Billiards in Portland, OR 503-761-2622 as I was sitting at Eddie's kitchen watching Eddie sign the 10 sets Paul bought from him that evening

If you're friends with Eddie Robins tell him that a lot of pool fans appreciate the effort he put into those books. I was a fool to not buy a couple copies at 40 bucks or whatever he initially charged for them.

He has contributed a lot to billiards- his one pocket books make all others lookd ridiculous except for beginning players. Used to be a fine player too.

Hope his health is getting better and his other books or at least the material in them will find a way to get into hands of true pool fans.

I've personally located four coppies of "Winning One Pocket" in the last three or four years. I kept one for myself of course, but the three coppies I auctioned on ebay (without reserve) all went for between $300 and $350 each.
I think that "Shots, Moves, and Stratagies" and "Position play in 3C Billiards" usually go for at least $100 - $150 each.

However finding funding/publishing has been the problem. I would like to see him get published as it would be a shame to not get access to all that quality information that he has presently in his head.

I bought those 2 books from Eddie. He's a great guy and loves to talk. He's currently trying to finish his book last time I talked to him about 3 weeks ago.

I've had my eye out for shots moves and strategies.....anyone find one, let me know how much.....or we could trade some stuff.
