Warm up strokes

Any one know why some great players take what seems to be an excessive amount of warm up swings before they pull the trigger? I wonder if they are trying to find the perfect swing rhythm or the proper balance of their weight during the shot, what do you think? There has to be a reason.

It depends on the player. Some take alot of warm ups others don't. Earl Strickland, Luc Salvas, Alex Pagualyan, Ronnie O'Sullivan and Stephen Hendry only do few warm up strokes. Though all of these guys are fast players, except for Stephen Hendry.

Warm up strokes, I think are not only to warm up your stroke but it is also something of a mind game. Wu takes 1 248 289 400 219 939 and a half warm ups, but I doubt all of those are in order to ensure he is properly aligned.
