warped?

I have a meucci original that is probably 20 years old. The shaft is fairly straight but the butt has a portion right at the middle of the forearm that show light coming through when rolled. I know that older cues tend to have a roll in them sometimes especially meucci. However, the forearm seems very thin especially where the light comes through. Is it because of shrinkage or has it been turned down as an attempt to fix a warpage problem before? By just looking at the cue, it looks like the middle of the forearm seems thinner than it should be. My other question is will the warp get worse or is the cue old enough to where the wood has had its time to settle in? Should this affect the playability any? Thank you for any inputs.

your rolling dice....it could do anything actually, could never move anymore could continue to warp....

if it looks like its thinner than it should be then it probably is....post some pics or take some measurments if you can.....if there is a qualified repair man or cuemaker in your area i suggest bringing it to them first hand so they can look at the problem in person.

good luck,

No. All cues can warp, whether production or custom. I don't think a specific brand (Meucci) of cue has a general predisposition to warp more than the next cue. Not to defend Meucci, but I've seen all kinds of warped cues... new, old, production, custom
