Watch out for this scam!

I saw this on craigslist about a month ago and talked to the guy. I wanted this stick for the price buy i would not send him a money order. It sounded to good to be true and i guess it was. I am glad not to have to same story as those other poor people.
 
good job ... anything that sounds too go to be true usually in. police recieved 40 calls about this guy. i feel bad for him if someone stole his idenity or something. it takes a real genuis to scam 40 ppl and think you wont be caught

Sounds like a deal.
The guy doesn't take PayPal. But he would take a money order. Made me wonder. A search of his name and address came up with this: http://www.city-data.com/forum/people-search/133468-anyone-know-bill-armstrong-denmark-sc.html

I know a very well respected AZB member who recently got burned on Craigslist. One idea that came up to check out suspicious Craigslist sellers, was to have someone in the sellers area call him because usually these scammers won't sell it to someone locally, they will say that the item is no longer available.

A rep point for some good legwork
