Watching a couple of late 90s/early 2000s pro videos. Question about bridges.

Well, obviously, one person using a slang term one time here certainly would not be the determining factor in lowering the bar in the entire sport, so you don't need to feel that this is all about you. Bob wrote that it's been used multiple times in the forum. My response to that is that frequency of use should not be a determining factor as to whether it becomes an acceptable term.

It's crude, but that's part of its "charm" - I don't find it offensive or demeaning to the sport. Different strokes, I guess...

Well, like you, I'm also not offended by it. There's nothing especially vulgar about it. But I think I'll have to draw the line in the 'charm' department. It's street talk, and it works well in films. I'm just not so sure about any other potential benefits.
