water based products on predator shafts

I recently started shooting with predator shafts shooting probably 5 hrs a week. Once a week or so, I would wipe it down with a damp towel, dry with a silica rag, then burnish. Every three weeks I use the full compliment of Q clean products.

I guess my question is should I be abiding by the manufacturer recommendation and use rubbing alcohol only? Also, is Q slick and Q glide a water based product?
 
Sounds like overkill for just playing a few hours a week, but that's just me. I'd just wipe it down after each use and maybe give it a good cleaning every few months and there shouldn't be a problem.
 
I use a fair amount of chalk and Louisiana is nothing without its humidity but yes I believe you are right.
