Wazup with Inside Pool?

Every month or so, I get an email notice from inside pool that a new edition is available for download online.

I'm no net newbie, but when I go to the link provided, I never can work out what the heck is going on. I gotta pay? I need a different registration login name? If I subscribe do I get online and postal editions?

This site seems to be designed by a committee. Looks ok but confuses the users.

Can someone enlighten me?

Colin, I experienced the same difficulty today when I attempted to go to the WPC website to read an article. I did not know that you need to be registered with a password in order to enter some areas of the website.

On the Inside Pool website, it is necessary that you register as well in order to download a copy of the magazine. It's doesn't cost anything to register, just like the WPC website doesn't either.

It is nice to know that I am not the only one who didn't realize that some websites do require registration for perusal purposes. :)

Thanks MS,
I am registered to Inside Pool but seems I need another registration to view the magazine. I'll keep trying.

The WPC site confuses things too. Often you need to login twice there. It's not like they are doing a lot of e-marketing with the emails so the hassle of registration is probably scaring away a lot of readers.

Putting up hurdles for your customers is not a good biz strategy.

You should talk

I tried your site and all I see is Chinese. I am really in the dark.
Can you enlighten me? lol

haha...I see your point!

There are two links that say ENGLISH on the home page.

As most our readers are Chinese, there's not a lot I can do about this, though I have told the tech guy to make a bigger ENGLISH banner.

Yeah, you definitely need to subscribe to be able to download the pdf version of the magazine. There's also some benefits in subscribing to their forum, like winning the postal issue of the magazine or a $200 shopping spree. I've been lucky to win both of the said prices. :D

The magazine and the forum each require you to sign in. You can use the same password, but you must register for both places and sign in to each to properly use all areas. You can read without signing in, but not post in the forum. You can read on the main site, but not download. If you go to the main site and see a login _option_, you are not logged in. If you do not see a the login, you are logged in. It is on the left side and down somwhat from the top. I had to scroll down just a little to get to it. I just downloaded the latest copy with no problem (Sunday 7:41 AM EDT)
