Hi there,

i was just wondering if the big screw i can see when i remove the bumper of my scruggs cue is a weight bolt, or if it`s a screw that holds the cue together. It starts at about 1.5 inches from the but end.

The cue was built in 2008 by Mike, whom i told that i like a cue that has weight in the back. So maybe it is a weight bolt.
I`m sure somebody here is scruggs expert enough to easily answer that question.

Thanks in advance,

Markus

Weight bolt

I'm no Scruggs expert - but in my Scruggs - it is a weight bolt.

Mine has a large flat head screw (not phillips) drilled in the middle to accept the bumper screw.

Hope this helps.

You can replace the steel bolt with an aluminum one if you want to decrease the weight of the cue.

Alright thanks for the quick answers!

The screw in my cue doesn`t attach to the bumper. It initialy starts 1.5 inches from the but end. You actually only can see it with a flashlight.

So it`s not that this screw holds the but together and when i screw it out the cue will fall into pieces?
