How many of you have made a custom tool for taking out straight slotted head weight bolts? So far,I have 2 that I will have to heat up to remove, but so far I haven't come up with a screwdriver that will bite enough to back the bolt out. I've even ground a couple but no luck yet.

What are you using? Tommy D.

I have the widest screw driver that I could find. I can't remember where I bought it. But before I found it I would clamp a tire tool in my bench vise and use both hands around the cue to put pressure and break it loose. I still use the large screw driver the same way in the vise. The cue in one hand and the screw driver in the other is just a disaster waiting to happen.

I am not a cuemaker but think that "gunsmith" screwdrivers might be a good choice. They are ground parallel so they are less likely to slip out of the slot under torque.

I have a set of these, love them: http://www.graceusatools.com/
