Weight bolt

I've got a Schon H4. When I originally got it, the thing weighed maybe 17 ounces. That was too light for me. I sent it to Richard Phillippi to have weight added. He got it up to 18.6 ounces. Still too light. The weight bolt is stainless steel, and it's as long as will fit in the cue.

As an alternative to having the hole drilled to accept a longer bolt, is there an alternative to stainless that I could use? Like, would a brass bolt of the same length weigh more?

Yes, but only 10-15% more.

Or copper

Looks like copper is even denser. I guess I'll weigh my current bolt and see that weight could be added. If I can get the cue to at least 19 ounces I'll be happy. It's amazing to me what a difference a half an ounce can make in a cue, at least for me.

Any idea where I could get a copper or brass bolt made?

Is there a reason why you don't want to drill and tap the hole an inch or so deeper? Having a bolt made sounds like a lot of trouble and expense for a very slight difference in weight.

Drilling and tapping a little deeper would be the best way for sure, But you could also fit two or three appropriately sized fender washers between the weight bolt and the bumper. Be sure to snug up the bumper screw so they don't rattle.

Mainly because I'd have to send the cue off again to have it drilled and tapped. I was looking for more of a quick fix. Plus, the existing bold is already about 8 inches long. I'm not sure if that makes any difference when it would come to drilling an even deeper hole.
