Weight Bolts

Hello I have a falcon cue that is 18 oz. I cannot get any manufacturer weight bolts. I tried the business where I purchased the cue but they told me to buy some weight bolts from a hardware store. So that is what I did. Although I was only able to make the cue 19.5 oz. The weight bolts were not heavy enough and I had no more space in the butt to put more weight bolts (so that I could make it 21oz). I imagine I need bolts that are heavier but I do not know what kind to get. I figure a cuemaker would know what to do.

Did you run out of space or is the bolt just not long eneogh?
Measure the head of the bolt.
How deep is the hole.
How long is the bolt that got you to 19.5
Approximately 1 inch of a 3/8x16 bolt weighs around .4 ounces.

Yes they are one inch each. Can stack 5 with barely any room left in the hole. So about a 5 inch hole. My scale says .35 ounce each. Could be a little off so about like you stated above. Total weight of the 5 stacked weight bolts according to my scale is 1.75 ounce.

Edit: yes that is right. I ran out of space. There is no head of the bolt. The bolts are screwed in with a allen wrench and are stackable (no bolt head). My cue weighs 18 ounces without any bolts so with the above bolts in a 5 inch hole (5 stackable bolts it weighs 19.75 ounces. I would like to get it to 21 ounces.

" You can have a cue maker or cue repair shop-
drill your cue a little deeper and retap- that way you can add the weight-

Ok. Then seeing you have to have someone work on it, change the weight bolt size to 1/2x13, it's a better option than the continued 3/8x16 as far as space. a screw in bumper can be found easilly for that size too.
