Weird Plastic Points

My understanding from folks who have tried to "recreate" the WICO blank is that there are both chipping and separation issues. I know Ryan has worked on several over the years as has Chris Hightower if memory serves me. I know Bob Meucci stated at one point that the glues used to hold the vinyl together was no longer made.

I'm aware of Ryan's work.

In your original post I was under the impression you were talking about WICO veneers.

That is what I have seen and understand as well.

Not that the originals have separations issues, but people trying to recreate them have run into such issues.

Ryan was recently posing in the cuemaker forum about his efforts. It has been quite interesting. I hope he picks that up again now that he is going to be on his own.

3d printing is an interesting idea. I wonder how clean the lines between the colors would be though. From what I know and have seen in 3D printing the results in this regard would be less than desirable.
.

Doc,

I'm sure it can be done with a good enough set up. The originals were most likely extruded.

Jay,

I understand the confusion. Sorry for the mixed message.
