Well guys, I've kept my new year's resolution so far and have played more 14.1 in the last week than I have over the last 7 months. It remains a mystery to me. For starters, my speed is no good. I just had my table reclothed with the 860 HR, and I like it a lot, but it's super fast compared to the old worn out rag I had been playing on. This has led me to over run shape numerous times. I'm figuring it out, but it will take time.
As to my progress (or regress - he he): I'm consistently running twenties and some thirties, but falling on the break ball adequately and consistently is my typical downfall. In short, my end games needs a lot of work. Also, I need to study the break shots. I did manage to get a 37 today with the balls wide open and naturally, I missed a duck to end it. I needed pinpoint shape for the next shot and tried to cheat the pocket...well, you guys know how it goes.
Anyway, 14.1 is really fun to play and I feel like it is reinvigorating my interest in practicing pool alone.
Cheers as always,
JL
