What’s in your (cue) Joint? (pic’s)

In the picture below are a few,(can’t post e’ m all), of the major production houses offerings for two piece cue joint styles. I pulled these from their respective websites.( Schmelke , Viking , McDermott.) This is not an endorsement of any particular brand, I just wanted some good representative pic’s and these were what I could find. I’m getting ready for my next purchase of a shooter and the choice of joint style has had me on the fence. I can’t seem to make up my mind. So here is a chance to weigh in on the subject. What is your preferred (cue) joint style and why? Honest folks, just looking for some input here, please don’t turn this into a war over whose is better than whatever someone else has….

have 5/16x14 piloted on my break and playing cues. had uniloc and wood to wood mcdermott joint. prefer the 14 more. uniloc would sometimes come a little bit loose.
 
I don't notice the differences too much. What is very noticable is wether the pin goes in to wood, phenolic or a steel or brass insert.
 
Mine is rather weird and I've not seen any other cue like it.

Brass joint, that when screwed together the brass in the middle of the cue is about 1cm thick. The pin is weird too. Fat at the base with the 'screw' thingys going round then on top of that is what looks like a uni lock pin. The shaft is piloted and not the but. Quite hard to describe in words. The shaft is also a flat wood base.

Pin type doesn't matter to me I can't tell the difference when playing. The material used for the joint and pin make all the difference though. I prefer what I've got, which is quite like a snooker cue joint and a wood - wood joint.
 
My vote is for the 5/16 14 piloted or not. I have had to many cues to remember and always seem to go back to this joint. Don't know why, I just like the hit better, seems more solid to me. My current shooting cue is a stainless piloted 14, break cue is piloted stainless 18, but one of my favorite cues is a flat faced wood joint 14 thread.
