What about changing the Mosconi Cup format?

10 ball basically died as major tourney discipline a decade ago. Back then W10B paid $100K for winner and there was tonnes of hype about 10B being big thing etc etc
Then it died down for few years after bust ups between Filipino pool tsars. Matchroom was also unhappy that World Pool Championship became World 9 Ball. Couple of years ago, multimillionaire Pacquiao revived W10B and after that it collapsed again.
Thing is for rotation ,10b is a pro player choice while 9b is spectators choice. What players like need not be what spectators like.
The biggest 10B tourney in world now is All Japan which many have even never heard of. Go figure.

no... the event is about the audience, and the crowd loves seeing their guys get lucky and the other guys getting unlucky.
WHAT!? You want to make an exciting format into another boring 10 ball call shot/safe fest?! That we have on a stream every weekend? That is a snooze fest? No way.
PS, if it was 10 ball, the Europeans might give us a doughnut.

I wouldn’t change it but that’s me. Why fix something that people are talking about next year already and it’s by far the biggest draw in pool? Also I hear a ton of people saying we need Canada. I think the fans love it just because you can get behind your country... It wouldn’t even be what the Mosconi Cup is about USA vs Europe. It will even out I think eventually. They are up 12-11 in total I think. If we played it 100x I would bet it would be fairly close to 50/50. And I’m not even going to go into what half the people say about who and who shouldn’t be on the team because most people don’t even have a clue what their looking at... everyone says USA players can’t play safe and kick bad.. meanwhile that’s one area I think we may have a hair advantage... we missed twice TWICE as many balls as them that’s why we lost.. We couldn’t get out when the balls are open and you have to win those games because you’re lucky just to be able to get an opportunity to win a game at that level.. add on a race to 5 and you really have to get out every time the balls are laying good. I’m sure some league player will diasagre with me and tell me we need a Football coach for captain and we need to do practice drills together for 5 years before we can beat Europe lol.
Cheap shot at the “league player” Justin, that’s the bulk of folks who love watching and rooting for the team. Other than that Imcompletely agree.
It sounded bad but I’m talking about the guys like the commentators for the Cup saying I don’t know why he went two rails I would have stopped it when obviously that’s not possible... It cheapens the event imo and makes the players look even worse to the average fan that don’t know any better. I didn’t mean to single out league players, I started in a league and my Dad plays league. I guess I should have said for the all the people that won’t play a $20 tournament then get on here or FB and say that the US players play bad safes.
Missing easy balls is why the score was what it was, poor fundamentals fail first under the extreme pressure of the Mosconi.
