That teams payout receipt was posted on FB, and if I remember correct was $18,007 after the taxes and jackets, patches, pens and other goodies were deducted from the advertised 25K Payout. But that doesn't really matter now does it. It was an amateur tourney paying a first place team 18K in Cash, which seem pretty neat until you consider this Mr Banks..
At TAP Nationals, teams are guaranteed 4 rounds and 18 individual matches.
At Nationals APA guarantees the team 2 rounds and 6 individual matches
In TAP, teams get 300% more playing time to prove themselves at the Nationals Tournament guaranteed,
Last year at TAP Nationals in team 8Ball, there were 100 teams and the event paid out 10K to the winning team.
Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Last year at APA Nationals there were 800+ teams, and the event paid out 18,007 in cash..plus some shiny new key chains and letterman's jackets. (It is noted that TAP gives a similar swag bags..minus the letterman jacket...to each player upon arrival, just to be fair:wink.
But If we go by this last years comparison for first place payouts...When TAP hits 800+ teams at nationals?? The first place team would Win $80,000 dollars, not 18K...right?
At the 2013 Nationals, for first place, every $1.00 TAP paid out? the APA would have only paid 0.22 cents.
Simply put.. Teams get paid in TAP and get 3X the guaranteed tournament action and then get 3X+ the payouts relative to APA for the same cost.![]()
I'm makin' popcorn
There you go again, just a bunch of nothing..
Where was it listed that all pins and things were part of that? SHOW ME! You've got nothing, but you sure as hell don't mind repeating it, do you?
When TAP hits 800+ teams, I hope I don't have to hear any more of your ignorant claims.
Have fun with your 60 day, 800 team round-robin tournament. Let me know how that goes.
$18007.. you sure are good at pulling numbers out of your rear. You've even got it down to the dollar, but for some reason you can't figure out where that number came from or provide any hard facts. I'm guessing you're not one to feel embarassed for anything you do.
Banks, give me cliffs of this thread please. Too much poop to sift through.
OK Mr Banks, Lets just say APA Paid out 25K cold hard cash, o taxes no jackets and key chains...Ill believe you. $25,000 to first in APA. Yup..I'm a liar...lol
Now lets just say that APA only had just 650 teams...
After all that..TAP pays out $1.00 and APA .38 cents.
The thought of hitting 800 teams was not ignorant Mr Banks, it was a theoretical analogy, which you seem to be entangled in.
I always seem to draw this wisenheimer..
Mr Banks, Go play the leagues that have good friends and family, that is what is important. Its makes no difference if there are good people, players and LOs running them. And know when you are playing TAP, you are getting paid back a lot more than in APA
a lot? we can agree on that Mr Banks?...2 time or 3 times...at least would be considered a lot?
Lorider.....Yes it does matter on the team counts. Why wouldnt it? If TAP's pays $10,000 per 100 teams for first place then the APA based on the ratio TAP pays out (if they went by TAP's ratio) should pay out their national champ based on 600 teams.... $60,000 to first place. They don't.
What I am saying is TAP's national champ has to go thru alot less teams for a better pay out based on what the APA winner gets for their first place win. Not rocket science here. No spin either. Just simple math.
Banks...Im giving it to you $25,000 CASH!! They still pay back less than half of TAP. Can you even do math?
No need to be discussing anyone's rears
In TAP 1st,2nd, 3rd pace teams and a wildcard from every division qualify to play the League Championships (Titleholders).
In APA there are divisional playoffs, once that is complete..the 1st & 2nd place teams must then qualify for an intermediate qualifier (tri cups/cities)...winners of that tournament then qualify you for League Championships.
Its a more direct route in TAP to make it to the Nationals Championships.
In TAP 1st,2nd, 3rd pace teams and a wildcard from every division qualify to play the League Championships (Titleholders).
A wildcard in TAP? This must be something special in your area 'cause not all areas have that.
You want to do a math test now? Heck, we can play some and then do a math test. I'm game.
Oh, what does it matter.. you'll probably just make things up anyways.
They still pay more at the national level. On that, you're finally acknowledging the truth. You're also completely ignoring any monies that they may pay those teams locally before they make it to Vegas. Either stick with facts or just go away.

Gotta get me one of those....
Haha...reminds me of elementary school. I was good at remedial math...basically the simple math as they call it. We used to do around the world with flash cards (just simple (adding/subtracting,dividing,multipying) and I would go one time completely around the room and then get banned from playing the rest of the game. Later on in life math turned into...well not math anymore and it wasn't fun. It's never good when a math problem ends up being a full story, and starts throwing in random symbols lol!
What peaks my interest in tap is they have local and regional tournaments where you don't qualify for. You can just pay an entry fee and play pool and win cash . To the apa here it's vegas or nothing. Little to nothing in cash payouts and now instead of trophies they give you the crappiest shirts money can buy lol If apa had something around here on a regional level that wasn't about going to vegas I would find it a lot more interesting.
don't tell me winning a trip to vegas is a cash payout in apa or tap. I've Played apa for between 2 and 3 years and I've paid for a trip to vegas 4 or 5 times over lol I'm going for acs this year and between the hotel and air faire I'm putting out $400 out of pocket and I paid virtually nothing to play in the league considering they paid anyone's entry fee who is going to vegas. A lot of the people around here are playing on 3 and 4 teams a week! That's a lot of money they're putting out every year hoping for cheap trip to vegas.
apa is bigger ..there is denying it. But bigger isn't always better. Your going to have to play in both leagues and decide for yourself. That's why I'm trying to get a tap league started here in York. Hell I might dislike it as much as I dislike apa lol but I'd like to find out.
On a side note our apa operator asked me where were playing in vegas. I said it's at the tropicana. He said oh yeah ..there not big enough to be in the Riviera hahaha Like I haven't been to vegas before . There are lot bigger and nicer hotels in vegas then the god damn Riviera lol I laughed in his face and said they went to the trop because they got a better deal. Same thing the apa would do if they got a better deal from another hotel..it's dollars and cents. geez
