What brings out your best game?

Coming from behind in a money game. When I know I have to catch a gear or get ran over, I catch that gear way more often than not.

When I have been playing a lot. See everything more natural. Don't play as often as I use to.

I agree with a bit of anger. But rather than anger at an individual, I like proving to everyone that I am better than they think I am. More of an anger at all pool players. Aside from anger, slow breathing, a relaxed body and face, and focusing on only the game helps me zone in.

Competition

Competition does it for me. Playing against some one who is of the same caliber or better then me always makes me shoot better. I get lazy when I play against some one who does not shoot as good as I do.

Wish I knew, like most guys.
I comes and goes, like most guys.
Like most guys I agree that it's based on how you feel towards the individual you're playing. I have a hard time playing friends or people that I kind of like seriously for long. There's this one guy who I know and we're cool but I'm not fond of him (he doesn't know this) and he aggravates me to watch him play, he's weaker than me but I go into god mode when we play and crush him. There's a certain frame of mind that I get in when I play well, it's a balance of calm and seriousness, not really anger just deep focus and determination. My consistancy is all over the place because I don't know what turns me on, sometimes it depends on who's watching, where I'm playing, how the other person is playing but always when I play that one guy, it just turns on with him.
