What chalk are you using on your phenolic tips?

Anyone recall years ago when the Russian MC chalk was the rave and nowadays, I never see it used by any players.
I still see Blue Diamond occasionally but it seems mostly used is TAOM, Predator, Kamui, and Master Chalk. if I owned
a pool room, I’d ban all red color chalk and the pasty Kamui chalk that needlessly deposits & discolors the pool cloth.

I just checked the Titleist chalk and you have to be kidding me…..Pink?
GTF outta here…..pink……I have 3 daughters and breast cancer awareness
is very important to me…….but in a pool chalk, the color pink really sucks.

I’d never buy or use it just because of the awful color….Pagulayan & TAOM
will remain #1 until something better comes along and it sure isn’t Titleist chalk.

I’m confused. Dr V’s Titlist is available in green, blue and grey as well as pink. If you are boycotting Dr V because they sell a pink version, you can boycott Toam too for the same reason.

FWIW I use the grey Dr V on my breaker and haven’t seen it leave marks on blue cloth.

Gosh…..I was mistaken…..it is just the color……I didn’t notice a color option on Seybert’s .

Just credit me with a foot in mouth experience. But back to my original resistance, why
would anyone make pink chalk? Have you seen many pink covered pool tables? It is just
a absurd color choice because too many players incorrectly apply chalk and typically will
apply too much as they generally do. And pink is an awful color for chalk debris on any cloth.

I agree with you as a general rule. However, with the new chalks it’s much less of an issue. I’ve seen people with pink Taom on blue cloth and there are only a few small marks after a set. This isn’t shocking to me since my green V10 or Pagulayan also don’t leave much of a mark on blue cloth. I won a free Turning Point chalk in pink and used it on my breaker and again saw almost no cloth marks and the grey Dr V I’m using now on my breaker leaves almost no marks.

That said, I personally would stick to blue or green on blue cloth if I was buying it.
