What Cue Builders/Cuemakers are building there own FULL Spliced BLANKS?

I get some serious wood over a well done full splice. To me...there's nothing sharper, more eloquent, or more sublime than a simply stated full splice with two beautifully nature-engineered pieces of wood, adorned by some vibrant veneers. Gimme an ivory joint, and maybe a Hoppe ring...and you have my perfect cue. Hell...if the wood's exquisite enough...I don't even need that stuff either. And needless to say, inlays need not apply. I absolutely love the full splice work that Travis and John come up with...and can't wait to see what Eric puts out when he gets set up to do so. I know Ian's the original full splice fiend...but I'm definitely a charter member of that club too.

Are there any how to lesions out there or jigs, picts, anything? I would like to learn how to do it also. Feel free to PM!

Thanks,
Mark
My Cue Building Book shows how to do it with square blanks. My Advanced Cue Building Volume One DVD shows how to do it with round stock on special jigs.

Don Broos from Canada will also be making some quality full splice soon. It's great to see more and more cue builders heading back to building full splice blanks. Demand for them are rising and for good reasons. Traditional full splice blanks from Pete Tascarella, John Davis and Joel Hercek are some of the best in the market....simply because they been making these for years.

Regards,
Duc.

I glued up four full splice blanks this week. One Purple Heart, One Wenge, One Brazilian Ironwood, and a Cocobolo. All were spliced into birdseye forearms. I will be turning all these into custom cues with a little inlay work and wraps for around $675. These have longer point. About 10 inches long. If someone wants wrapless I could cut a couple of butterlies instead of the simple inlays for the same price.

Chris,
Can't wait to see them...

I agree with Joe here...I am looking forward to seeing them as well...especially the Brazilian Ironwood....never seen one. :) Maybe do inlays in some of the cues and butterflies in the others...mix it up! Not that I can afford it, but I would vote for a butterfly in the Ironwood...visually stimulating...but I am butterfly partial.
