What Cushion Profile?

I have a 1906 Brunswick Wellington that I'm replacing cushions and cloth on.. Does anyone know what modern rail profile K66 etc.. I should use?

I'll go get measurements tonight to see if I can tie it to an image off the internet..

K55 cushions.
When you pull the old cushions off measure the subrail face which should be 1 5/16" for K55's.
On your pics it looks like the install side of the cushion is smaller then the subrail face resulting in a gap at the bottom indicating K66 was used (assuming the subrail face was not previously modified)

* In addition, those cushions are installed upside down which is why the nose height measurement is over 1 1/2". When you look at a cushion from the end you'll see a curved side and a flat side. The curved side is the top side (and usually has a control strip attached but not always depemding on the cushion brand).

Wrong Cushion, Upside Down, and Wrong Height...

These rails were installed by a restoration guy in Chicago some 20 years ago my pop hired. Obviously not a pool table technician but did wonderful work on the wood.

He told my pop that it played 'different' because it was restored to 'period' rails and felt... I suspect it was restored to what he had around or could get cheap...

I set the table up last weekend and after one night playing with friends decided something was not right and started digging into the rails.. New rails and Simonis cloth on the way soon...

Thanks for your help!

I'd suspect you had little action or speed with the balls coming off the cushions.
Dry fit the new cushions and check for a nose height of 1 7/16" (+/- a 32nd).
Curved side up

K55 profile was a good fit

I have no idea if the subrails have ever been modified but new Diamond K55 cushions put me back at the correct play height and the new felt makes the table behave much better.

I meant to measure the height and angle before I put the cushions on but got all excited to move forward and forgot.

I used quarter inch facings to close up the large pockets as well..

It took me about 5 tries before I got the rails recovered to my satisfaction (That was a lesson..) Thanks for everyones help!
